Diary 2: January 1, 1944 — June 26, 1944

Peter’s first entries of his second diary are January 1-3, 1944, when he entered as a ninth grader at Collège Champollion, a high school where he boarded in Figeac, France, under the false identity, Pierre Fesson, after leaving Le Chambon.

January 1, 2 and 3

Was a little bored; left at 2 o’clock and arrived at highschool.

Tuesday 4.1

Despite assurances that the portal would be open, it was closed. After waiting a half hour and banging (on the door), at last it is opened for us. I fall asleep around midnight.

Wednesday 5.1

I went to class. Nothing special.

Thursday 6.1

We went for a hike on the road to Capelette.

Friday 7.1

In class.
