Peter Feigl’s Diaries

{January} 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.1

Nothing unusual.

Sunday 16.1

The new class monitor [Mr.] Vigne punished me. Together with the other punished ones, I hiked out on the road to Aurillac where I was really bored. I read a book Premiere written in German by Jenny Graan.

Monday 17.1

We had French composition: “Much charm can always be found in one’s native village, in the country in which we grew up. – Are the reasons for this necessarily a matter of the beauty of the countryside which explains man’s attachment to the country of his birth? Is this attachment not rather founded primarily on sentiments?” – I think I did pretty well.

Tuesday 18.1

Today I had German composition. It was pretty easy. All the boarders play sick in hopes of having the Collège closed down.

Wednesday 19.1 The Collège was finally closed for 11 days, that is until February 1. By the evening, many of the boarders were gone. My sinus trouble flared up again. An airplane flew by.
