Saturday 6 May
It’s likely I won’t be on restriction Sunday. We had English composition. I succeeded. We got the tickets. And by sneaking out I was able to buy chocolate.
Sunday 7 May
I went out this afternoon. This morning I was told that I must leave tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock. I went to the movie and saw “Water’s Prey” and “Cupola of Death.” I threw away all my notebooks. After dinner, all is ready. That’s when I’m told I won’t be leaving. Damn!
Monday 8 May
I was forced to go to class and I muddled through. I got in 2 hours of gym with Bernard and Gardère after playing volley ball.
Tuesday 9
We got our French grades. I rank 8th with a 10 [50%].
Wednesday 10
4 years ago the Germans attacked Belgium. There is nothing new.
Thursday 11
This morning the Germans came through riding on tanks etc… An inspector was here.
