Thursday 17. 2
The refugees arrived. We spent the entire day at the railroad station (it was snowing and we did not have classes); we hauled furniture. Tomorrow we’ll continue.
Friday 18. 2
I continued unloading. But today I got to light up a truck. In the afternoon I went with the truck to Ceint d’Eau. At noon, I was late.
Saturday 19. 2
It’s still going on. I went with Schiltz on a small truck from Larroque and we went to Clavioles.
Sunday 20. 2
Everybody is gone. Even the monitor. Someone named Siroît who is half deaf is supervising us. On the way to the Rex movie I saw an airplane this afternoon. Saw for a second time: “The Murderer Lives At Number 21,” last seen in Marseille.
Monday 21. 2
Again, I saw 3 airplanes this afternoon. I did some mending. It has been freezing for the past 2 or 3 days.
Tuesday 22. 2
The sink is frozen and leaks. I went to see Schiltz and together we went to see the “abbé” (the scouts’ chaplain). Loupias was there. With him we played a game of “Monopoly” which I won. He lent me some newspapers.
