Sunday 6.2
We went to mass, played ball, etc… I got better acquainted with Tascali and Wittelson. I read “The 11 Lemoyne Brothers” and was unable to see Bernard because of the bikes. Hence I saw “Forbidden Love” (totally stupid) at the Vox cinema and at the Rex “Sacred Fire,” which wasn’t bad. Hurrying back to school, I made it just in time.
Monday 7. 2
I read “The Pyramid of Atlantis.” In the afternoon I went to choir. The grades for compositions are: German 1st with 15/20 – French 5th with 9.5/20. My ranking is unchanged. I did not get my cakes. I’ll get them Thursday. There are two new boarders, one from Nice, one from Montpellier. I believe that on Thursday nearly 2,000 evacuees will be coming here.
Tuesday 8. 2 We had dictation (awful). I made 9 errors. It’s shameful. I’m half-way through reading “Chancellor Martin Paz” by Jules Verne. It’s a bit boring. I spoke with Mr. Verbié and I will get my first lesson Friday from 5 to 6 pm.
