Peter Feigl’s Diaries

Monday 13. 3

I paid 5 francs to see a Saturday film matinee at the Collège. It was about underwater plants.

Tuesday 14. 3

Geometry composition [test]. It was fairly easy; I got a 14.5. That raises my overall average to 12.5 and I think I rank 8th in class.

Wednesday 15. 3

We got our history composition grades. I ranked 1st with a grade of 13. Monday we’ll have geography [test]. I had a lesson with Mr. Verbie [the math teacher]. I read “Surcouf The Pirate” by Karl May and “The Pioneers” by Fenimore Cooper.

Thursday 16. 3 I read “The Heroic Life Of Guynmer” by Henry Bordeaux, “The Death Mob” (a terrific crime novel), “Across New York” and “The Zeppelins” (written by a German). This morning, the seniors left to play. Hence we didn’t have gym, nor history because Pujolle had to guard the [railway] tracks. In German class, the 3rd had to work and there was a total of 6 [students]. Around noon, airplanes flew by very low.
