Peter Feigl’s Diaries

Monday 20. 3

I read “Amundsen by Himself.” He was the one who discovered the South Pole.

Tuesday 21. 3

There was an air raid during the night. Verbié told us that there would be a girl in our class.

Wednesday 22. 3

She came and her name is Régine Veissier. She is from Marseille and she is bright as a tack. I have my work cut out for me.

Thursday 23. 3

She sits next to me in history, geography, English. We got the geography results. I got an 11 and rank 8th. In the afternoon we went to the La Capelette woods. I had a lot of fun with Wittelson.

Friday 24. 3

I read “The Life Of Napoleon” by Louis Bertrand.

Saturday 25. 3

Here are my [phys ed] results from last week and today (better): Run 60 meters in 10 seconds. Broad jump: 3.30 meters. High jump: 1.05 meter. Throw 4 kg weight: 5.91 meters. Climbing: 5 meters.

Sunday 26. 3

I went to mass and this afternoon I’ll go to the movie. The juniors of our Collège will play Rugby against the public school this afternoon. I saw movies, “Two Young Girls” at the Family (it was sad), and at the Vox, “Adrian” with Fernandel, which was very funny.
