Peter Feigl’s Diaries

After the meal, while going up to study hall, Mathé knocked over the stove pipe. The result: Vigne hollers and we made him scream even more. He again promises detention for us, putting us on report; ejecting some, etc. Truth be: We’re having a ball. Siroit brought me a knife. Since Friday we are getting biscuits. Freckle face is immersed in his stamps [collection].

Wednesday 26.1

Mathé leaves this evening. He takes advantage of it. Vigne’s room is filled with bed rolls. He said he would keep all of us confined on Sunday.

Thursday 27.1

This afternoon I’ll try to get out to see the dentist. Mr. Pezet (monitor) came back. I lit the stove because we didn’t have gymnastics class. In the afternoon, I pretended going to the dentist. I ran some errands and went to the laundry. Hennery was kicked out of school; he leaves tomorrow evening. He gave me a file folder and I went with him to a café. I bought a sport shirt and stupidly gave them one p[oin]t. I bought a pocket agenda.

Friday 28.1

The German teacher lent me a book as did an “externe” (Edgar Wallace: The Yellow Snake). This morning I asked someone to buy me some tracing paper. I read some “Mickeys” and in study hall started making a map of the Scandinavian countries.
