Peter Feigl’s Diaries

Diary 1: August 27, 1942 — February 1, 1943 (Go to Entry 1, Diary 1)

Diary 2: January 1, 1944 — June 26, 1944 (Go to Entry 1, Diary 2)

Peter began his first diary when he was 13 after receiving news of his parents’ arrest and transfer to Le Vernet internment camp in France. Peter explained that the diary is a sort of continuing letter to his parents which one day he hoped to share with them. It ends abruptly when it disappears prior to his writing the February 1, 1943, entry. The second diary, started January 1, 1944, continues through June 26, 1944, his initial refugee period in Switzerland.

In June 1942, prior to starting his diary, Peter was living in Auch, France, with his mother and father, Agnes and Ernst Feigl.
